I am greatly affected by the colours and textures of the landscape around me and the ever-changing light of the north of Scotland. A decade ago I was painting landscapes strongly influenced by Fauvist colour. This has moderated somewhat over the years but I still find colour exciting. More recently I have experimented with degrees of abstraction and impasto work. Most paintings are in acrylic on canvas or board but I also enjoy using watercolour. |
